Isaak B. Kleinert invented the perspiration protection category as well as the incontinence category soon after he founded Kleinert's, Inc. in 1869 in College Point, NY. It was then known as I.B. Kleinert's Rubber Company and headquartered in New York. Isaak Kleinert was a prolific inventor and outstanding merchant. His inventions include many products still in common use today including the shower cap, the shower curtain, the dress shield, the garment shield, the waterproof baby pant, the sanitary pant and many other products.
During the late 1800s to1950s the company grew into an international manufacturing operation with facilities in the US, United Kingdom, Canada and Australia. During World War 11 Kleinert's was a supplier to the US Air Force producing rubber life rafts for our airmen who were forced to ditch their planes into the ocean.
During the 1970’s to 1990’s Kleinert’s grew by producing childrens blanket sleepers and playwear products, footwear and our traditional branded personal protection product line. It also served many department stores and discount retail chains in the United States which had large notions departments.
It was during this period that Kleinert’s developed its mail order clients and that business flourished. However with the development of the internet in the mid 1990's we recognized an opportunity to sell directly to our consumers and launched our first website. Kleinert’s continued serving our retail stores across the county, our notions distributors and developed its consumer direct business.
Since 2003 Kleinert's has built its online presence and added many new and advanced disposable and reusable products for hyperhidrosis (excessive sweating) and incontinence.
Today we serve tens of thousands of consumers worldwide as well as our many trade accounts around the world.
Kleinert’s produces the largest selection of products for excessive sweating in the world! Some of our customers today include Disney, Broadway shows, movie sets, US cadets at West Point, choirs, operas, uniform companies and the internet consumer.
We are direct manufacturers located in the small town of Elba, Alabama where we employ only American workers. All of our products are made in America and we support local jobs here.
We try to make everyone satisfied through our myriad products which save the consumer money and also enhances their lifestyle by extending the useful life of their clothing and promoting self confidence.
We are constantly researching new fabrics and design techniques to contribute to the benefit of our consumer products. Our patents include two for an advanced fabric treatment called Fabrapel which uniquely provides fluid-resistance, stain-resistance and odor-resistance to any fabric making it a noiseless, protective barrier. Additionally a patent for hyperhidrosis using a 15% aluminum chloride ingredient with which we produce into a wipe called Sweat Shield Ultra for excessive sweating. These are successfully sold to dermatologists, podiatrists and to consumers worldwide.
