The Heritage of Innovation
Isaak B. Kleinert founded Kleinert's, Inc. in College Point, New York, originally operating as I.B. Kleinert's Rubber Company. Throughout his career, Kleinert developed numerous products that became household essentials, including the shower cap, swim cap, shower curtain, garment shields, underarm dress shields, and pioneering the waterproof baby pant for infant incontinence protection.
By the mid-20th century, Kleinert's had grown into an internationally recognized manufacturer. The company became known worldwide for its waterproof baby pants and dress shields that helped protect clothing from moisture and perspiration problems. During World War II, Kleinert's also supplied rubber life rafts and parachutes to the U.S. Army and Air Force.
From the 1970s through the 1990s, Kleinert's expanded its product offerings to include children's apparel, adult footwear, and more personal protection products. The company embraced e-commerce early, launching its first website in 1995 and continuing to grow its direct-to-consumer business online.
